How to play

Press Play now and you get ten questions from every category except the kids set, starting easy and getting harder. Tap an answer, or press 1 to 4 on a keyboard. You find out right away if you got it, with a line or two about why. At the end you get a score and a rank, anywhere from Full Scrooge up to Actual Santa.

The game keeps track of what you've seen on this device, so you won't get a repeat until you've been through the rest of the bank. It runs in the browser and it's free, so there's nothing to install.

The daily quiz

Everyone gets the same ten questions each day, and you get one scored try. When you finish, you can share a grid of green and red squares the way people share Wordle, or send a challenge link that gives a friend the exact same questions. A new one unlocks at midnight Eastern. Play a few days in a row and it keeps count of your streak.

Playing with a group

Host it on a TV

Open host mode on a laptop and plug it into the TV, or cast the tab. Add team names and pick a countdown clock if you want one. You read each question, reveal the answer, then tap which teams got it. The scoreboard does the math, and the top three end up on a podium. The hosting guide has the details.

Pass the phone

Two to eight people and one phone. Everyone types their name, then the phone goes around the table and each person answers their own question. Nobody sees their question until they're holding the phone, and a leaderboard settles it at the end.

With kids

Kids read-aloud mode uses big buttons and easier questions, and it can read each question out loud on most phones and laptops. It's built for kids who can't read the questions themselves yet.

Quick rounds

The lightning round gives you 60 seconds of true-or-false. The emoji movie round shows a few emoji and you name the holiday movie.

Trivia not enough for one night? The Left Right Game is a gift-exchange game: someone reads a Christmas story out loud, and everyone passes their present to the left or right whenever they hear the word.
